About Us
The Department of English was established in 2008 with the purpose to impart quality teaching in the area of English literary studies, communication skills, and translation studies. The department has bagged 7 University ranks.Many seminars and Drama contests have been organized by the Department. The students of our department enacted the Albert Camus’ play ‘The Misunderstanding and Tagore’s ‘Post Office’ at Spaces, Chennai, Rangasankara Nadagasabha and Trichy Nadagasabha.
Vision
- Our department’s significant vision is to impart English language skills and communicative competence to the students.
- Develop the soft skills and manners of the students to face the challenges.
- Develop students ‘ love of literature and teach various literature across the globe.
- Develop latent and critical thinking in students which will help them solve their problems while facing.
- Encourage and allow the students to participate in national and state-level seminars which help them escalate their critical thinking.
- Our department’s prime focus is on continual professional excellence in teaching.
Mission
- Our department has committed to enhancing the intellectual level of the students for which the class meeting, lectures, seminars, and symposiums will be organized every month and encourage the freedom of inquiry of the students.
- As the students come from the village and other remote parts of the town, we conduct the bridge courses for the freshers to eliminate their fear of foreign languages from the students.
- Our department’s highly modernized and sophisticatedlanguage lab is another heaven forthe students’ to acquire pronunciation and language skills.
- It is our prime mission to make the students academically proficient in their subject and they will certainly come out with flying colors.
