Department of Commerce
About Us
The Department of Commerce was established in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree Programme. Since 2000, it has been elevated as a Research Department offering a Ph.D Programme in Commerce.
With Thirteen well-experienced staff members, over 380 students are pursuing their studies and several academic streams of B.Com, M.Com and Ph.D. The Department functions exclusively on the first floor of the B Block, with an amiable atmosphere.
The theme of our department is ‘LIFE LINE OF TRADE’. Commerce is crucial to country’s development and wealth creation. This field necessitates the completion of numerous operations, it easily produces employment opportunities in various fields such as transportation and logistics, finance and retail. We have instill all the possible inputs in order to provide better life platform for our students.
The curriculam of our department programmes are structured and designed by Board of Studies of the Bharathidasan University. The core point of our teaching is to ensure that our students can stand on their own.
In addition to the curriculum aspect we’ve also provide Certificate Courses and Add-On Courses to enhance the skills and knowledge of the students.
The department hosts workshop and seminars (national and international) on a regular basis to keep students up to date on the newest advancements in the fields of commerce, management, banking and finance.
In addition to that we’ve sent our students to internship programme to various sectors.
Vision
Impart the knowledge in the field of the financial literary to the rural students and empower them to meet an entrepreneurial challenges in the New Age.
Mission
1. Aim to Provide a High Standard of and qualitative education
to the rural students and make them compete with Global Challenges.
2. Enrich the students with an expertise in the primary thrust areas like non leading financial institution and stock market.
3. Create a space for the entrepreneurs.
Objectives
To cultivate a favorable academic climate for students.- To prepare students to contribute to society via service.
- To improve the status of the whole family by educating the girl students.
